Well, the provincial election has been called for March 3rd. This is very short time for the candidates to campaign and collect more votes.
So, I decided to help out, so I’m helping campaign for Pat Murray, the Liberal candidate for my area. I agree with most of his views and he is a really great guy.
I also think that this time around, the Liberal might, or probably will win and end the 30+ year reign of the conservatives.

Here is the promised Wordpress Domain Portfolio v1.0. It is currently “Unstable” as no one other than myself has tested it out and has not attempted to upgrade from 0.7 to 1.0. Stable!

New Features:

• Import domains from XML file (takes GoDaddy downloaded XML flawlessly)
• Export all domains to XML file (which can in turn be imported back)
• Mass Delete in Admin Control Panel
• CSS Style, editable via Admin Panel
• Can search for domains in Admin Panel or on Domain Portfolio page
• Easily Enable/Disable column in the portfolio
• Edit intro text very easily
• Turn your domains into links to the domain’s site if you’d like.

Requirements: Wordpress 2.3.x

Installation Instructions:

1. Unzip file and put contents into your plug-ins directory. You should have the following file tree:
   • wp-content
     • plugins
       • domain-portfolio
         • captcha.php
         • dp.php
         • dp-install.php
         • dp-export.php

         • dp-adminpanel.php
         • dp-import.php
         • dp-options.php
         • exporter.php

2. CHMOD the “temp” folder to 777
3. Activate the plug-in through the Wordpress Plugins manager
4. Once activated, go to ‘Manage > Pages’ in the administration panel and edit the page named “Domain Portfolio”
5. Click publish
6. Now it’s all setup! Visit ‘Manage > DN Portfolio’ to start adding your domain names!

Upgrade instructions:

1. Disable your current version of “Domain Portfolio” via the Plug-ins manager
2. Backup your prefix_dp_domains table to your computer (optional, but recommended)
3. Upload and replace all the files included in the zip, you should have the same file tree as in the Installation Instructions
4. CHMOD the “temp” folder to 777
5. Activate the “Domain Portfolio” plug-in via the Plug-ins manager. Depending on how many domains you had in your portfolio it may take some time.
6. Go to your portfolio page on your blog. Everything should appear the same, other then possibly the styling and/or intro text. This is all editable through the admin control panel.

I was flipping through the news paper this morning and glanced upon the “Report on Business” section. Apparently, according to the professionals, Canada might not follow the Unites States’ path in a recession. This is noticeable when comparing the US stock markets with the Canadian TSX. The TSX made one fairly large crash a few days ago, while all the US markets are going up and down (in a downwards direction).
However, Canada will slump a fair amount be so attached in every way to the US economy. The only thing I’m worried about is all the Americans that may move to Canada.

Here’s a wonderful new Wordpress add-on I just created. It is in it’s early stages, as I currently have it at version 0.7, but I hope to get it to a fully stable 1.0 by the end of this week. What is it:

• List all of your domain names for sale in one place
• A page for each domain where users can send their offers and contact you.
• Have 100s of domains? No problem! Use the Bulk add tool!
• Visitors can sort lists by anything! Alphabetically, by expiry date, price, status or even registrar!
• Control how many domain names are listed on each page

The Advanced PayPal Donation Panel is a module that allows the donor to choose the currency, the amount he is going to donate directly on your website and get forwarded to PayPal with that information. The Control Panel allows you to change the PayPal Email address you are wanting to use.
